Statement from Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins on Federal Mass Vaccination Site in Dallas
DALLAS-- Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins released the following statement in response to the White House selecting Dallas Fair Park as one of three community vaccination sites in Texas:
“I applaud the White House for selecting Dallas as a community vaccination site. This is welcome news for all Texans. These much-needed resources will help us reach some of our hardest-hit communities and ensure that more residents access the vaccine in a fair and equitable manner. No Texan should be left behind.
These resources will help many families, and particularly our most vulnerable residents, regain some sense of normalcy. We know that the day can’t come soon enough when families can embrace their parents or grandparents without fear. This announcement gets us closer to that day.”
The White House announced today that it is partnering with the State of Texas to build three new major Community Vaccination Centers (CVCs) in Dallas, Arlington, and Houston. The CVCs will be at Fair Park in Dallas, AT&T Stadium in Arlington, and NRG Stadium in Houston. Together, these sites will be capable of administering more than 10,000 shots in arms a day.
