Students Organize to Fight for Civil Liberties
Texas students remind us of the importance of education, advocacy, and investment in our community.
Local students gathered in the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library in Dallas this past Saturday to discuss student advocacy and the protection of civil liberties. Representative Ana-Maria Ramos supported the students by speaking on the protection of individual rights on the floor of the Texas House. Students from Greenhill School, Booker T Washington School for the Performing and Visual Arts, The Hockaday School, and Lovejoy High School gathered their peers to discuss the importance of civic engagement and tactics to organize within their schools. We're excited to see the work that these students take on in the future and were reminded of the importance--and payoff--of investing in Texas students.
